CBD Oil / Hemp Benefits Podcast

What is CBD?
CBD stands for Cannabidiol, a compound that comes from the Cannabis Sativa plant. This oil is extracted from various varieties and parts of the plant. It is one of (the most) active cannabinoids identified in cannabis. CBD Hemp oil is made from low THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) as apposed to medical marijuana, which is made from plants with high concentrations of THC
Why CBD Oil is BETTER than Medical Cannabis.
Many people want the health benefits of cannabis but don’t want the psychoactive components. Consider children who can benefit from the health benefits, we don’t want them to have psychoactive affects in most cases. Consider working professionals that do not want to be in a mentally altered state but need the health effects from CBD or want to avoid the worry of THC drug testing from their employer. There is also the community of sober individuals who have suffered from drug or alcohol addiction and have committed their lives to sobriety. They also want the health benefits with no “high”.
How CBD Works on the Body
The body contains receptor sites designed to update CBD, called the endocannabinoid receptor sites, as part of the endocannabinoid system. These are found in the brain and throughout the central and peripheral nervous system. The ECS is involved in psychological processes such as appetite, pan-sensation, mood and memory.
Can you get “high” of CBD oil?
No. CBD does not produce euphoria or intoxication as it does not contain enough THC, the prime psychoactive component. CBD only interacts with cannabinoid receptors weakly at doses 100 times that of THC. This is not THC-Free, however it is substantially below federal legal limits at approximately .02%.
What are the health benefits?
Hemp extract compounds interact with our body’s naturally occurring cannabinoid receptors (many of which are in the brain) and address a range of traditional therapeutic uses:
- Aids Immune System Health
- Aids Neurological Health
- Aids Digestive Health
- Supports Healthy Pain Response
- Aids Cellular Health
- Aids Emotional and Mental Health
While we do not claim that CBD oil will cure, treat or prevent any disease or illness, there is a great deal of pre-clinical research (including both cell culture and animal models) which demonstrate positive results for stomach or intestinal issues, overall well-being, mental clarity, rest and the list goes on. New research is coming out as this is written supporting the health benefits of CBD.
Are there any risks associated with CBD oil use?
A review of 25 studies on the safety and efficacy of CBD oil did not identify significant side effects across a wide range of doses.
