MY STORY

I look back on those photos of me from 15 years ago, and wonder why I didn’t recognize the mistakes I was making with my diet. I was eating well ( I thought) and exercising regularly but still seemed to hang onto extra pounds no matter what. It was an article about diets for diabetics that began my now 15 year long career into health and wellness.  After a diet transformation, I was finally able to lose all of that extra weight.  And that was just the start of it. As the years passed I had 2 babies, and was still able to bounce back to a pretty good weight, but I still wasn’t satisfied. I continued to study nutrition in grad school where I studied Public Health, and did a great deal of my independent studies in Holistic Health and Wellness.  This became my lifelong path. From there I studied herbal medicine, essential oils, stress management and all of the components that make us well. When I was about 35 I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, an autoimmune disease that attacks the intestines and ranges from mild to fatal. Mine was somewhere in the middle, enough to spur me to action drawing from my years of holistic health and wellness. I was able to take the diet that helped me to drop 25 pounds of body fat, and tweak it further to help my body fight inflammation and bacteria. It worked. My UC went into remission and my body became leaner and stronger than ever in my life.  Finally I was satisfied with this program I developed, and as a Health Educator, decided to include this as part of my wellness business and I called it the Six Week Slim Down.

Everyone has a story, this was mine. It might work for you, and if it doesn’t something will. Take a chance and test the limits, you might just be amazed at what you find.[/x_tab][x_tab active=”false”]

I have been teaching herbal medicine, holistic health and wellness for 13 years. I watched people around me getting sick, gaining weight, feeling tired and miserable and realized it was not just the natural course of life. It’s the choices we make! In my training in the health and wellness field, I learned that we have the power to control our health by what we put into our bodies and what we are exposed to. After getting my BA in Psychology, I went on to study Herbal Medicine and finally to Graduate School where I earned my Masters in Health Promotion, now called Public Health. It was confirmation to me that we are doing things WRONG in our approach with heath care (drugs) and lack of prevention (poor diet). So, after watching my father take advice from the standard medical practice, and it failed him, I am determined to set the course for new healthcare in America and abroad. I believe in the power of food. I believe in the power of natural plants as healing agents.  I have seen miraculous changes in peoples’ health, by embracing these principles and it is my goal to touch as many lives as I can with this knowledge and reset their course of life to one directed at health and prosperity forever.[/x_tab][/x_tabs][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][cs_section parallax=”false” style=”margin: 0px;padding: 0;”][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_image type=”none” src=”https://healthywithnicole.com/files/2016/03/bbbb.jpg” alt=”” link=”false” href=”#” title=”” target=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” info_content=””][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][/cs_content]
